Recorded at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio on April 5, 1971 on a 90 minute Scotch sound cassette. Recorded by Robert J. Bertholf while serving as Professor of English and organizer of the Creative Arts Festival at Kent State University. Recording was donated to the Poetry Collection at the University at Buffalo, where Bertholf subsequently served as Curator.

This recording is of an English department class titled "Visionary poetry", taught by Robert Duncan and Allen Ginsberg at Kent State University on April 5, 1971. Duncan is the main lecturer, while Ginsberg acts as a kind of interviewer. The main subject, as the title of the class indicates, is poets' perception.
