Description
Act 1, scene 1a -- Scene and costume design: N. Benois
A black and white theatrical stage set displays large silhouettes of ancient Egyptian figures and columns of hieroglyphs on its backdrop. Numerous performers wearing robes and ornate costumes are distributed across the stage, with some standing on a small platform and others gathered in a large group. The tall background elements frame the performers and cover the height of the visible stage area.
