Title
A poster of "Kokiriko Matsuri"
Description
This is a festival held in Kaminashi Hakusangu Keidai, Nanto, Toyama Prefecture, every year on September 25 and 26. The man in the poster holds the Sasara, which is a string-bound bundle of 108 boards of Japanese cypress (the same as the number of worldly desires in Buddhism). During the matsuri (festival), an elegant dance is performed to the sounding of these planks of cypress.
