Title
School girls lining up for class
Description
Partly as a result of British rule and class distinctions, two types of education can be found in India. State-supported schools usually teach in the vernacular of each state, with English introduced often after many students have already dropped out. Costly private schools, indicated by the uniforms worn by the girls, start English much earlier, meaning graduates have advantages in the job market.
