Title
Women preparing cashews
Description
Cashews, brought to India for cultivation from Brazil, require multiple steps, particularly roasting and removal of outer layers, prior to human consumption. Although the manual process could be automated, widespread surplus labor in India's rural areas makes the employment of these women economically far more rational.
