Act 1

This wide black and white view shows an outdoor amphitheater filled with a large audience under a dark night sky. A lit stage at one end features a detailed architectural set and several groups of performers. Text in the upper right corner identifies the location and year as the Arena di Verona during the 1937 opera season.
