Portrait of Red Cross benefactor Stephen Merrell Clement painted by artist Cecelia Beaux in 1910. Stephen Merrell Clement was the owner of the Buffalo Red Cross headquarters building (formerly known as the Clement Mansion) which his widow donated to the organization in 1941
A painted portrait of Stephen Merrell Clement seated in a wooden chair, dressed in a dark suit with a tie and vest. One hand rests on the arm of the chair while the other holds a rolled document. The background is plain and muted, framed with a simple border.
