Vertical monument featuring a fluted column topped with a statue of a figure holding a sword and cross, likely a king or saint. The column stands in a cobblestone plaza bordered by multi-story buildings with gabled rooftops and dormer windows. In the distance, a Gothic church with ornate towers rises above the rooftops. Leafless trees and a curved streetlamp frame the left side of the composition, and small groups of people are visible at the base of the column and along the street. The photograph appears to be taken in winter or early spring, with low sunlight casting long shadows.
