Historical color illustration of the Hotel Lafayette, Buffalo, New York, designed by Bethune, Bethune & Fuchs, Architects displaying a large rectangular brick building with detailed architectural ornamentation, including tall arched windows and decorative stonework along the upper levels. An American flag is mounted on a pole at the center of the roof. Surrounding the structure are several smaller buildings, some partially visible. The street scene includes numerous pedestrians walking or standing, as well as multiple horse-drawn carriages moving along the unpaved street. The sky features light cloud cover, creating a soft backdrop for the urban setting.
