Used for excision and amputation
Wire snare originally developed by P.J. Desault for tongue incision in the removal of large tumors.
A long metal medical instrument with a curved shaft and a textured black handle is shown against a light background. The instrument has a double-ended T-shaped crank at the base of the handle and a forked gripping mechanism near the middle of the shaft. The upper end curves slightly and includes a narrow opening along the shaft. A small chain is attached near the top end. The metal surface shows light wear and discoloration.
