This aerial photograph shows a densely built industrial and residential section of a city, bisected by multiple rail yards and freight lines. The upper right quadrant contains rows of warehouses, storage yards, and circular fuel or storage tanks. Numerous rail lines cross through the center of the image, forming a busy network of switching tracks and sidings. Residential streets in a grid layout dominate the left and lower portions, with tightly packed rows of houses. Industrial complexes with long rectangular buildings are scattered throughout, especially in the bottom center and left. The image is marked “8226-71” in the upper right corner and “Fairchild Aerial Surveys Inc. N.Y.C.” at the bottom.
