Description
Photographs, Black and White ; 24 x 18 cm.
This black-and-white aerial photograph shows a river crossing with a bridge linking the neighborhoods on the north and south banks. At the top of the image, a dense residential grid dominates the urban landscape, with rows of houses, factories, and rail yards. The waterfront contains industrial sites, including warehouses, storage yards, and piles of raw material, visible along the shoreline. On the south bank, the bridge continues into another developed residential area, though less densely packed than the north side. A breakwater extends into the river near the industrial facilities on the north shore. The waterway is broad and central to the image, with the bridge forming a diagonal axis across it. At the top right, the number 8226-189 is inscribed, and the bottom right corner bears the credit Fairchild Aerial Surveys Inc. N.Y.C..
