My Dear Fanny Dr.
What a child
you are to be sure. Do you
suppose I would allow you
to work for me - no indeed
I am negotiating for a school
in Elmira at present doubt
tho if I take it. I rather wish
to teach now so that I can
be at home. during the
summer + then I should
practice what I could.
It is strange to me that
I do not find something
to do. I have never failed
before in any undertaking
and why now. It is not
because I am lazy is it?
Perhaps it might be as well
to tell you I am visiting my
sister at her new house. I
am delighted with it. I know
you would be.
My beloved friend “Dr Thoma”
is practicing. but strange
to say Dr. P dislikes him
now as much as before
he loved him. I rejoice
to announce this bit of news
Miss Dickinson who as you
knew was at Dr. Pierce’s is
now at the Homeopathic
Hospital on Virginia St
as Lead nurse.
Miss Knapp is at San fran
-cisco in some work. I
expect to hear from her
soon.
Dr. Manchester who grad
-uated when I did. has
married a young lady
in Royalton where
he is in practice. Peace to
his [as???]. He took me to
the banquet and marry
is the time now have
“[hofno??ed]” over chocolat
and Ice cream at Meyers
He answered all purposes
as a friend and escort
but he was flirt. + I
do not envy his wife
I am so anxious to do
something to make some
money that I really have
quite a struggle to go
out in society and be
at all agreeable.
Druggist Thompson
is very kind took me
over to Canada + to
Grand Island last
Friday + to many other
places + to tell the
truth he wants to marry
me but I am not
going to flat out and
get married before I have
earned a cent in my
new name. No I wish it
I live to be a dried up
old maid and blow away
some fine day.
We have had very warm
weather. I shall go home
within ten days and
take Earl with me.
I have had several patients
at home. tho I havent put
out my sign
I must close and
write another letter
If you write right
away address me here
you remember when
Mr Thompson came
for me to ride and
done gone home. he said
he was always sorry
that he did not ask you
to ride. You looked so lonely.
but he was afraid you would give
him the
mitten
with all
my love
God bless
you my
dear
Louise
my love to your mother + sisters
