Dear Dr. Ames:--
Yours of recent date
received. Have rented a modern mach
ine for a short time, and got so inte
rested in writing something I thought
was partly original ,that I used up
all my full sheets of paper.
You have reminded me of some al
most forgotten. Simonett name is fam
iliar now. Have a recollection of
Burchard if it was he whose wife was
there. Died between sessions or some
thing to that effect. Would not re
membered the name of Miss Culver only
that she fainted at the hospital dur
ing one of Dr.Moore's clinics in my
first year. I nearly did the same at
the sister's hospital in '82-3.
Was always handicapped by a miserabl
inferiority complex. Could tellthe
symptoms
of a disease but not the disease from the
symptoms. Had a brother who graduated
here 18 years after I did who was af
flicted with too much superiority compl
ex I thought. He took after his fathe
I after my mother. He left a son who is
an M.D,and two B.A. daughters. Another
bro. left a B.A. son who is a chemist
foe the C.I.L. here a branch of the Du-
pont D'amours or some such name on your
side .
A note from Dr. Alexander says
he is going strong at 87.
I was but a kid of 21 and 3 mon-
ths nearly when we graduated.
Was very fortunate in the exam-
inations. Had been reading Loomis new
work on practice on presystolic and
post-systolic murmurs and Dr. R. took
me on those. But caelessly said Bronchia
instaed of B.breathing in solid stage o
of pneumonia. Also told Cary there were
3 lobes in the brain instead of 5 as he
claimedX . But then I might come out ah-
ead of Frank Comfort which I would not
wanted to do.
Your postage is 3 cents, ours 4.
Yours truly,
W.O.A. Langs
M.D.
You can see
am not a professional
typewriter.
