Description
Planting plan for the evergreen garden on the estate of Darwin D. Martin, Lake View, New York. The drawing shows a rectangular garden bordered with labeled plantings, including evergreens such as Taxus cuspidata and Juniperus species, with paths and a seating area at one end. A detailed list of lilies and planting notes are written at the center of the plan, providing instructions for soil preparation, plant placement, and ground cover. The sheet is titled “Planting Plan for Evergreen Garden” and signed by landscape architect Ellen Biddle Shipman, dated March 13, 1930.
