Description
A central figure with long light-colored hair stands in a voluminous red-toned dress adorned with delicate gold patterns and a heart-shaped pendant. The figure’s hands are raised to its head. Four semi-transparent forms appear, two on either side. The background is dark and atmospheric, and gold text at the bottom reads: “AND EVEN NOW A HARSH VOICE SEEMED TO HANG ABOUT MY HAIR,”. The piece is signed “FRANCES E. MACDONALD 1897–” in the lower left corner.
