A protest rally and march lead by Lois Gibbs and Ed Begley, Jr. against the resettlement of the Love Canal area which was organized by the Clearinghouse for Hazardous Wastes is taking place on a paved road with a large group of people walking toward the camera. Behind them is a tall chain-link fence covered with signs, posters, and black balloons. Some signs are readable, including a large banner that reads “Gov. Cuomo Just Say No” and another that refers to “Love Canal Homeowners.” A few individuals are holding balloons, and one person rides a bicycle along the left side of the frame. The sky is overcast, and the surrounding landscape is grassy and bare, suggesting a cool or early spring season.
