Title
Jalousies, Jaipur palace
Description
Northwest India, where Jaipur is located, is marked by intense summer heat. The palace of the Maharajah shows extraordinary ingenuity in non-mechanical cooling: pools of water in the center of courtyards and rooms
carved marble jalousies such as those depicted, allowing passage of air but screening those on the inside from being seen
high ceilings
and others.
