Title
Truck on the Grand Trunk Road, India
Description
This Sikh truck driver takes great pride in his work, not only because he is responsible for his vehicle and the safety of its contents, but also because of the elaborate decorations which cost a good deal of money. Many of the symbols are intended to ward off evil; others take up patriotic themes or depict national monuments. On the open highway, captions on the back instruct other rivers to "Horn Please" and to "Use dipper at night" if they are going to pass.
