Title
Genevan women dressed for Escalade
Description
Citizens of Geneva annually commemorate the successful defense of their city from an assault by troops from Savoy in northern Italy. The holiday provides an occasion to dress in manner appropriate to 1602, when the so-called 'evil Savoyards' attacked.
