Title
Roman mosaics, Vatican Museum
Description
Wealthy Romans decorated their homes with elaborate mosaics. These often depicted natural products, such as those shown here, notably food. Hunting provided a further common basis for mosaics, as did various gods and goddesses. This mosaic dates from the earliest years of the Common Era.
