Title
Museum Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder
Description
The Protestant Reformation prompted some Amsterdam Catholics, newly stripped of the right to worship openly, to build "schuilkerken," or secret churches. This secret church was constructed in the top three floors of a canal house in 1660 and was christened the second-oldest Dutch museum in 1888.
