Title
Westerkerke, Amsterdam
Description
During her period hiding from the Nazis, Ann Frank was inspired by both the sounds of the bells in this church [the 'West Church'] of Amsterdam and by the sight of the tree shown in this picture. This view was taken from the window of the attic room where her family was concealed. Because of age and disease, this tree was cut down in 2008.
