Bell of the Mezquita, Cordoba
Description
The minaret of the Mezquita was converted into a bell tower during the Reconquista in 1236. In the 1300s, King Henry II ordered that the bells taken from the Santago de Compstela Cathedral (an important pilgrimage site in Northeastern Spain) be installed in the newly added bell tower.
