Description
Photographs, Black and White ; 24 x 18 cm.
This black-and-white aerial photograph shows an urban area combining residential, industrial, and undeveloped land. Most of the upper portion is filled with dense housing laid out in a grid, with some curved street patterns forming distinct blocks. A major rail line runs diagonally from the lower left to the upper right, cutting across the neighborhood. To the left, large open tracts of land and excavation areas with winding paths are visible. Scattered industrial buildings and facilities are located near the open land and along the rail corridor. The bottom right corner bears the label “Fairchild Aerial Surveys Inc. N.Y.C.,” and the upper right is marked with the number “8226-223.”
