Description
Photographs, Black and White ; 24 x 18 cm.
This black-and-white aerial photograph shows an urban landscape in transition. On the left side, a dense residential neighborhood is arranged in a grid with some curved streets forming triangular blocks. Rows of houses are closely packed, and a triangular open space with buildings is visible near the center. The right side of the image contrasts with large open tracts of land, partially divided into rectangular lots with some development but mostly undeveloped. Roads extend into the open areas, and a few rail lines cut diagonally across the lower right section. The bottom right corner includes the label “Fairchild Aerial Surveys Inc. N.Y.C.,” and the upper right is marked with the number “8226-262.”
