Description
A kneeling figure in a richly detailed, floor-length gown bends forward, reaching out to gently touch the face of a reclining figure. The kneeling figure wears a decorated headdress atop long, flowing hair. The lower part of the composition features dark, swirling patterns resembling water or shadow. The background includes arched and abstract forms. Signed "Frances E. Macdonald, 1897" in the lower left.
